Estimate Time & Cost
This cost estimator is designed to help you estimate the render time and cost of an animation project.
· Please be aware that the render time on the RANCH will be almost identical for any number of frames below 125 (125 frames will not take more time than 50, and it will cost the same).
· This cost estimator does a reasonably good job of approximating the render time for animations, with a margin of error of +-20%.
· The estimation displayed is just that: an estimation, and not a guarantee. Please make sure that the value you enter for the render time per frame on your system is _really_ an average render time, and not the time of a random frame (which may be considerably lower than the average).
· The accuracy of the estimation is proportional to the homogeneity of the frames. In other words, the estimated render time will be very close to the actual render time if all the frames take the same time to render.
· The total processing time of a project includes the preparation time (distribution of the scene and scene elements, textures, etc. across the whole renderfarm), the render time itself and a small project management time (ftp account creation, etc.). The time and cost displayed by this cost estimator correspond to the render time: this is what you pay for. You are not charged for project distribution and project management.

How to use the cost estimator below:
1) Choose your computer type in the CPU list (or a system of similar performance).
2) Enter the average render time per frame on the system chosen in step 1).
3) Enter the total number of frames of your animation in the next field.
4) Click on "Estimate Time / Cost".
