THE RANCH/
BENCHMARKS

The RANCH is the only renderfarm to publish precise benchmarks.
The FryGold scene is available here.

The benchmarks have been updated on March 26, 2009 with Fryrender one SP2.
Details on these tests are also available in the RANCH Renderfarm User Guide.

The Frybench
4800 x 3200 resolution, render time = 5 minutes, PSS=33.33.

The Frybench performance benchmark has been developed by RandomControl to compare the render speed of different computers. The scene is designed to reach 32 passes, with a definition of 720 x 480 pixels. A very fast Core i7 system (i920 overclocked to 4.00 GHz) finishes the benchmark in 5 mn 19 s (a standard Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40 Ghz needs around 16 minutes).

In 5 minutes, the RANCH reaches 33.3 passes on the Frybench scene... but in 4800 x 3200 pixels! The image below shows the relative sizes of the render you can do in 5 minutes on the RANCH and on a superfast Core i7 system (click to zoom).
