The
Frybench performance benchmark
has been developed by
RandomControl to compare the render speed of different computers.
The scene is designed to reach 32 passes, with a definition of 720 x 480
pixels. A very fast Core i7 system (i920 overclocked to 4.00 GHz) finishes
the benchmark in 5 mn 19 s (a standard Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40 Ghz needs
around 16 minutes).
In 5 minutes, the RANCH reaches 33.3 passes on the Frybench scene...
but in 4800 x 3200 pixels! The image below shows the relative sizes of the
render you can do in 5 minutes on the RANCH and on a superfast Core i7
system (click to zoom).
