THE RANCH/
PRACTICAL CASE

Here is what happens when a customer sends a project to the farm.
We hope it will help you to better visualize the renderfarming process :

Mr Smith connects to the RANCH website and logins with his user account.

To submit his project, he enters his scene’s parameters, his credit card information, and uploads his scene (please see the Renderfarm User Guide for details) to the renderfarm.

The project enters the waiting list, or is directly rendered if first in line.

When the rendering of the project begins, a first e-mail is sent to Mr Smith.

While his project is rendering, Mr Smith can check its status on the online waiting list.

When it is finished, Mr Smith receives three e-mails. One is sent by our renderfarm server and confirms the end of the rendering. The other e-mails are sent by our web server. The first contains the link to the final payment page. When the payment is done, the last e-mail sent contains the necessary information to download the files (ftp server to contact, project directory, project account and password).

Mr Smith connects to our ftp server with his favorite ftp client (we recommend FileZilla) and downloads his files.

Each project is assigned a temporary ftp account and directory. Mr Smith has 5 days to download his files before the project account expires.
