THE
RANCH/ BENCHMARKS
|
| The
RANCH is the only renderfarm
to publish precise benchmarks. |
 |
The
scenes shown here are
available on the Vue 8
Infinite / xStream Extras
DVD. More details are available
in the RANCH
Renderfarm User Guide.
Benchmarks last updated with Vue 8 xStream
in November 2009. |

|
 |
Please
note that efficiency may
vary with the nature of
the scene.
Optimal performance will
be reached in animations:
- where all the frames
have a similar render
time.
- when the number of frames
is close to a multiple
of 125 (to optimize the
number of passes).

Note:
To the actual render time must
be added the time needed to
distribute the project across
the network and to compress
the frames after the render,
but you do not pay this additional
time.
A Vue 8 animation which would
take an entire
week (7 days
x 24 hours) on a 64-bit Core 2 Quad
Q6600 would
be rendered in around 1 h 30 to 2
hours on the
RANCH.

| Note:
To the
render time must be added
the time needed to recombine
all the tiles into the
final image (a sequential
task). In any case you do not
pay this small additional
time. |
